Primetals supports China Steel Corporation on its decarbonisation process

Primetals Technologies will support decarbonisation efforts for China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan's leading steel producer.

Primetals supports China Steel Corporation on its decarbonisation process

As part of this collaboration, Primetals Technologies will conduct studies on CSC's Kaohsiung plant, which has an annual steel production capacity of approximately 10 million tonnes. These studies aim to realise CSC's goal of reducing its carbon footprint through operational improvements and technological changes.

Primetals Technologies will provide expert advice on this project, conduct extensive research and deliver a detailed report with recommendations for CSC's decarbonisation strategy. CSC is seeking solutions to meet its goals of reducing carbon emissions by 25 per cent by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

CSC's Kaohsiung steel mill houses four blast furnaces and produces a range of high-quality steel products, including steel plate, bar, wire rod and rolled steel. These products are largely exported to both domestic and international markets, with major export operations to regions such as Southeast Asia, Europe and Japan.
