The electrical and electronics sector exported 7.3 billion dollars in the first half of the year

The exports of the electrical and electronics sector reached 7 billion 343 million 976 thousand dollars in the first half of the year with an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Ministry of Commerce and the Turkish Exporters Assembly Turkey's total exports in the first 6 months increased by 20 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 126 billion dollars.

During this period exports of the electrical and electronics sector followed a fluctuating course. The sector made foreign sales of 980 million 455 thousand dollars in January 1 billion 366 million 975 thousand dollars in March, 1 billion 65 million 633 thousand dollars in May and 1 billion 359 million 402 thousand dollars in June.

Exports of the electrical and electronics sector increased by 7 percent in the January-June period of this year compared to the same period of the previous year, rising from 6 billion 867 million 595 thousand dollars to 7 billion 343 million 976 thousand dollars.

The United Kingdom ranked first in exports with 801 million 402 thousand dollars. This country was followed by Germany with 677 million 57 thousand dollars, France with 433 million 616 thousand dollars, Italy with 351 million 540 thousand dollars and Spain with 314 million 686 thousand dollars.

Istanbul on top

Istanbul ranked first at the provincial level in the exports of the electricity and electronics sector in the January-June period. Foreign sales of 3 billion 710 million 740 thousand dollars from Istanbul corresponded to approximately 50 percent of the total exports of the sector.

Istanbul was followed by Manisa with 1 billion 87 million 41 thousand dollars, Denizli with 425 million 945 thousand dollars, Kocaeli with 418 million 922 thousand dollars and İzmir with 384 million 279 thousand dollars.
