According to the latest report of the World Steel Association (WSA), Iran ranked 10th in the world steel ranking by producing 19.7 million tons of crude steel in the first eight months.
However, Iran's monthly crude steel production amounted to 1.6 million tons, a decrease of 24.1% compared to August 2022.
Iran's steel industry has made steady progress in recent years, struggling against external challenges such as US sanctions and COVID-19, which is making its impact around the world.
The country is expected to rank 7th among world steel producers by 2025.
