Industrial production decreased by 0.1 y-o-y

According to the March industrial production data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute ( TUIK), industrial production declined by 0.1 y-o-y.

Industrial production decreased by 0.1 y-o-y

Industrial production decreased by 6.0 percent on a monthly basis and 8.2 percent on an annual basis last February due to the impact of the February 6 earthquake. This decrease in industrial production was recorded as the biggest decrease since May 2020.

According to TÜİK data, when the sub-sectors of industry are examined, in March 2023, the index of mining and quarrying sector decreased by 10.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, the index of manufacturing industry sector increased by 1.4 percent and the index of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector decreased by 7.8 percent.

When the sub-sectors of industry are analysed, in March 2023, mining and quarrying sector index increased by 3.0 percent, manufacturing industry sector index increased by 6.1 percent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector index increased by 1.2 percent compared to the previous month.
