Decrease in Turkiye's Capacity Utilisation Rate of the Manufacturing Industry

Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced the manufacturing industry Capacity Utilisation Rate data for December 2023.

Decrease in Turkiye's Capacity Utilisation Rate of the Manufacturing Industry

According to the results of the Business Tendency Survey conducted with the participation of 1735 businesses in the manufacturing sector, Capacity Utilisation Rate (CUR) decreased to 77.3 percent in December in seasonally adjusted terms. This represents a decrease of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month.

According to the CBRT's statement, the non-seasonally adjusted Capacity Utilisation Rate (CUR) decreased by 0.5 points compared to the previous month and stood at 77.5 percent in the same period.

These data for December indicate that the activity in the Turkish manufacturing industry slowed down slightly. However, the overall high Capacity Utilisation Rate points to the stability of the economy. According to the CBRT's statement, these data were collected with the participation of 1735 businesses and evaluated through the Business Tendency Survey.
