Extracts 250K tons iron ore, boosts jobs and industry growth in Algeria

Between 2022 and 2023, over 250 thousand tons of iron ore were extracted from the Gara Jbeilat mine in Algeria, according to Assistant Director General Belhadj Reda. The mine, one of the world's largest in terms of reserves, is expected to meet the local needs for iron ore in the country, along with the Ouenza and Boukhadra mines. The project is expected to create 25 thousand and 125 thousand jobs, and boost the national industry. The mine's production capabilities are estimated to reach 50 million tons annually by 2040. The project will be accompanied by several other projects, including the completion of the Gara Jbeilat-Bashar railway line and the Bashar Complex for railway tracks, metal structures, and railway cars for transporting ore. The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has launched the railway line between Gara Jbeilat and Bchar, marking a turning point in the project's success.
