Vietnam's highest steel bridge opens

The tallest steel arch bridge in the country opens in Bac Ninh city in northern Vietnam

Vietnam's highest steel bridge opens

The Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge, which becomes the highest steel arch bridge in Vietnam, has opened in Bac Ninh city in Northern Vietnam, on October 11. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony, which took place in Canh Hung commune of Tien Du district, was quite crowded.

This modern arched bridge connecting Thuan Thanh town and Tien Du district was designed with a length of 1,232 meters. Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge, with its interconnected arches, is a project requiring a total investment of 1.926 trillion VND (78.8 million USD).

25 steel tie lines support the main arch, which is 67 meters above the base deck on the Duong River, a tributary of the Red River. There are a total of great five steel arches in the structure. Vietnamese engineers were inspired by the flat straw hats worn by "quan ho" singers who sing local traditional songs. The curved lines of these traditional straw hats, called "quai thao", are incorporated into the design.

During the construction of Vietnam's tallest steel arch bridge in Bac Ninh, the project took five years due to both the complex structure of the bridge and other difficulties. Construction was only completed thanks to the strong investment and support efforts of the province and the interest of the government, ministries, and industries. It is stated that the bridge is the pride of the country in terms of safety, quality, and aesthetics.

The Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge is also of great functional importance in terms of relieving the occasional congestion on the nearby Ho Bridge and connecting the national highways connecting to the region. With the new bridge at this connection point, which also opens to state roads, an effort was made to complete the transportation network of the key economic region in the north. As a result, it functions as a hub.

One of the aims of the project was to help support socio-economic development. Easier transportation will be an important development for economic development in Bac Ninh and other places in the river delta.

It was also noted that the bridge will contribute to the development of local tourism. Many ancient places in the province, such as Kinh Duong Vuong Temple, But Thap Pagoda and Dau Pagoda in Thuan Thanh town, Phat Tich Pagoda in Tien Du district and Do Temple in Tu Son City, can be visited on a tourist route.

Full support for market recovery

According to the opinions published at the end of last month, the increase in steel consumption and steel demand in the country, thanks to the revival of the real estate market and the construction sector, was interpreted positively.

The most important hope for the domestic steel market in Vietnam was now the possibility of a recovery aimed at encouraging construction and increasing steel consumption. As the real estate sector showed positive signs of development, the steel sector began to recover. There were also those who predicted that the real estate supply would recover clearly and become vibrant again as of 2024. According to these sources, if steel demand increases again, it may be attributed to the disappearance of the stagnation in related sectors.

Currently, the government is providing the necessary environment with various policies to eliminate the pressure on cash flow and facilitate the implementation of future major projects. According to some sources, even the structuring of the law is envisaged to solve the difficulties, support construction demands and meet domestic steel consumption.
